FAQS
What should I expect during the IPL treatment?
Prior to your IPL treatment, we will first assess your skin type and concerns to tailor the session specifically to your needs.
At your treatment, after applying a water-based gel to your skin, we will use the IPL device to emit pulses of light. Most patients experience mild discomfort, often described as a slight snapping sensation.
The session typically lasts between 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the treatment area, and you may notice some redness post-treatment, which usually subsides quickly.
Is there any downtime after the treatment?
One of the significant advantages of IPL therapy is its minimal downtime. Many patients experience only mild redness or swelling immediately after the procedure, which typically resolves within a few hours.
You may resume your regular activities shortly after treatment, although it is advisable to avoid direct sun exposure and follow the post-treatment care instructions provided to ensure optimal healing.
How many sessions of IPL Therapy will I need?
The number of sessions required varies depending on your individual skin concerns and treatment goals.
Generally, most patients benefit from a series of three to five treatments, spaced a few weeks apart. We will create a personalized treatment plan based on your specific needs and desired outcomes, ensuring optimal results from your IPL therapy.
Are there any side effects associated with IPL Therapy?
While IPL therapy is generally safe for most skin types, some patients may experience mild side effects such as temporary redness, swelling, or minor bruising. These effects are usually short-lived and resolve quickly.
Discussing your medical history and any concerns prior to treatment will ensure that IPL is the right choice for you and minimize the risk of adverse reactions.
